This spot is by the upper part of the loop trail at Montgomery Woods state park, near Ukiah, CA. I took the photo one December afternoon when the stream was full from a heavy rain. The sun was too low to reach here directly, but the reflections off a cloud bank lit everything with a beautiful even light. All the trees in the photo are coast redwoods; the green plants covering the ground are redwood sorrel.
