Orange-crowned Warblers

I found this nest in late spring on a hillside near Fort Bragg, CA. It was set into the redwood duff at the base of a small tanoak, and the nearly grown chicks were making a constant loud racket of begging chirps. After setting up a studio flash and my camera with a telephoto lens, I draped myself in camouflage nets and spent a day and a half watching and photographing the parent warblers feeding the babies. I took this picture on the first day, about mid day on the second day the chicks hopped and tumbled out of the nest and flew off into the surrounding bushes.
