Fan-shaped Wave

This is at a place near Mendocino, CA where an underwater rock sometimes causes waves to reverse direction and collide with incoming waves. Here the highest points of the two waves have missed each other but the water in between is spreading into a sheet. I took the photo from a bluff top using a long telephoto lens and a shutter speed of 1/1000 of a second. This was late in the afternoon when the low angled sunlight really brings out the color of the water.
