This was in Mendocino bay off Big River beach one sunny November morning. All the waves were huge that day, many looked to be more than twenty feet high. I took the picture using a telephoto lens from the top of a bluff. Because of the direct bright sunlight, I was able to use a fast shutter speed of 1/2500 of a second to freeze the image.
