I took this picture from the rocky headlands near Mendocino, CA, one breezy spring afternoon when the waves were big. The water was good and clear, and at this spot the waves were breaking in nice rolling curls as they passed over an underwater rock. I used a long telephoto lens on my camera so that I could stay out of the splash zone.
