This was on an August morning in the Santa Lucia range above the Big Sur coast in central California. Driving down Nacimiento Road, I passed into the top of the fog and started seeing sunbeams shining through all the tree branches. I walked below the road and found these beautiful live oak trees over a ground cover of poison oak that had already turned autumn red.
