This was shortly before sunset one summer day on the northern Mendocino coast of California. I parked my car on the side of the dirt road that goes down to Usal Beach and stood on the car roof to get a clear view of the coastline. Soon after I took the photo a thicker bank of fog moved in and covered everything.
